Brainstorming!

25 04 2007

Phew! We are almost there.

You should now have an understanding of the Big6 process and the benefits of using an information pathfinder. Now it’s time to transfer that new knowledge.

What unit/project are you considering for the culminating project of this course?

Web 2.0

18 04 2007

New situations often put us into a state of frustration until we have been able to form a conceptual framework of the new concept.

You are working on a project concerning Web 2.0 tools. How do you feel about these technologies? Are you already familiar with them? Can you see yourself engaging your students in learning using these tools? Post a comment on your impressions.

3-2-1 for Session I

11 04 2007

After class post a comment about what you have learned in the first session: What is the Big6?

Include:
3 things you learned
2 things you still have questions about
1 comment about the session

Check back and possibly respond to other students’ posts.

Welcome!

6 04 2007

Welcome to a new adventure in your Teach 21 training! We will be exploring the Big6 research process, information literacy, and using information pathfinders as the basis for a jigsaw method project. Using the knowledge you will gain in this class, you will be able to provide a student-centered, constructive, and engaging learning project for your classes.

Incorporating the digital natives’ (dig:nat) love for technology to use digital primary resources coupled with authentic, higher order inquiry-based assignments will engage learners. Students become motivated to learn because they use tools of the digital generation to construct products that have meaning to them.

The navigation bar above and the Course Outline to the right have links to pages for each session of this course. Also to the right is my “Blogroll” which is a list of blogs by other CCSD educators. Below that, there are informative links for the concepts presented in this course.

We will be blogging throughout the course. After each session, I will publish a post here for you to leave comments before the next class.

Embrace the future of learning!
